Why async-first is the future of work (remote or not).

It is not outlandish to assume that after the world quickly adapted from working in-house to working remotely that this work-life adaptation would have to keep evolving.

What I mean is that after an uncertain period in which everyone did the best they could to adapt to the new (and let’s say tragic) circumstances of the COVID-19 outbreak, which involved endless video conversations and basically being available all day long - remote working now seems like it’s here to stay.

Of course, remote working doesn’t have to be uncomfortable, stressful, or at least, no more than going to the office. Quite the contrary: the future of work means more freedom and flexibility, working from wherever you want, whenever you want, and the way you need to. Remote working of the (near) future will have to allow a balance between personal life, working hours, and being effective. This is why the future of remote has to be async first.

But why async?

Well, despite what many may think of synchronous communication (that is to say, real-time meetings, instant human communication, face-to-face or by phone) being more efficient, it’s been proven that this isn’t the case.

With asynchronous communications, more concrete decisions can be taken, in contrast with overly spontaneous answers in immediate response. Also, different time zones can work together and it allows the employee to schedule the work and deliver on time, which translates into more productivity.

How to work asynchronously?

Easy! has developed a tool that allows everyone to communicate in short videos or voice notes in order to substitute most of meetings or part of them. Not only this, Comeet adds these video-first async meetings to your calendar.

We thought it was a great way to get back your time. Simply start any discussion with a short video. Get directly to the point and allow others to participate in their own way while making thoughtful conversations with a human touch. All in one place and accessible by your team.
