One-on-One? Let’s Comeet

Is there a worse feeling than having committed to your manager about something and realizing in the middle of a one-on-one meeting that you forgot about it?

You may have heard about one-on-one meetings. A one-on-one is a dedicated space for open-ended conversations between a manager and an employee. “This is the free-form meeting for all the pressing issues, challenges, brilliant ideas and chronic frustrations that do not fit neatly into status reports, email and other less personal mechanisms” (Ben Horowitz). When they're done well, a one-on-one is super powerful both for the manager and for the employee. Additionally, it's quite normal that the two participants finish this type of meeting with decisions and actions to do and follow.

Comeet can be your best friend for those meetings - to only focus on what’s important and never lose track of your path. And here is an easier way to run one-on-ones like never before:

  • Ask the employee (yes, it's their meeting) to set an agenda with the topics that they need/want to discuss. Comeet will advise you in advance if this is done.

  • Start by reviewing the conclusion of the your last meeting. With Comeet, this is super easy to navigate through your Calendar events or using the meeting overview view.

  • During the meeting, write down your decisions and next-steps on the Calendar event. Comeet allows you to synchronize, so you're both aligned and nothing is forgotten.

  • At the end of the meeting, provide feedback to help you improve the next time you meet. Though, during one-on-ones, feedback is not anonymous, it has to be perceived as a good thing that demonstrates honesty and transparency within the manager/employee relationship.

With Comeet, your Calendar will remind you of your decisions and actions, so that you never miss a thing. Sounds easy, right? ;)

The most important thing is that the best ideas, the biggest problems, and the most important employee life issues arise during these meetings. We are sorry we cannot do that for you, but, we can help you focus exclusively on that!
